PINS - Workshop 1 Group A
Workshops for Group A attendees:
PINS
Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS) has aimed to bring health and education specialists and expert parent carers into mainstream primary. Cohort 1 schools received a range of training and support including specialist TA support and parent carer forum coffee mornings. For cohort 2 we have been able to make further changes to the offer based on feedback from schools. Embedding good practice within mainstream schools through PINS and the ND pathway will ensure that schools are able to meet pupils’ needs without pursuing a diagnosis and instead supporting the graduated approach and BERA in Leicester City schools.

Attendance and the Support First Model - Workshop 2 Group A
Workshops for Group A attendees:
Improving attendance is everyone’s business and the barriers to accessing education are wide and complex, however, good attendance begins with school being somewhere pupils want to be. In the revised DfE attendance guidance schools are required to provide support before involving the Education Welfare Service. There is a place for City SEND services to support with this. Up-to-date data will also be shared in relation to SEND and attendance across the City.
