Introduction to Trauma Informed Practice
As a Local Authority, we are named partners within the Trauma Informed joint strategy for LLR. By attending this session, you would be aligning with this strategy and build upon your skills to embed the trauma informed approach in your practice. The aim of the session is to increase understanding about trauma, its's impact and the role you as a practitioner can play to prevent or mitigate its impact on the families you work with.
The objectives are:
- To explore the basic principles of Trauma Informed Practice
- To enhance knowledge and understanding on how trauma impacts children & families
- To reflect on ways to work more effectively with children, young people and families
- To enhance knowledge and understanding on ways to support families and prevent re-traumatisation
